Product Image Colour Matching Unit
Simulates daylight for colour matching tints and verifying shade consistency. It also simplifies inspection for spots and blotches after tinting or decolouring. Compact at 45 x 15 x 10cm.
Product Image Lens Holders for Tinting
Black plastic lens holder (left) at a very economical price. Can be hand-held or added to a grad arm.

Spring loaded: stainless steel (right) means that dye is not collected and passed onto another dye pot. The spring loading allows for cut lenses or uncuts to be tinted at the same time and the lock prevents the lenses from slipping or rotating. Model V1 takes 2 lenses.

Economy Stainless Steel (centre) Very attractively priced for stainless steel. Takes 1 pair of lenses.
Product Image Phantom Automatic Tint Machine
(left of photo) this state-of-the-art, microcomputer- controlled automatic machine will produce both mono and graduated tints. When a beeper indicates that the cycle is complete, the lenses are lifted clear of the dye so they do not overtint. Free-standing, it takes only seconds to set up: the versatile arm can rotate 360 degrees, accommodates up to 4 pairs of lenses at once and is almost silent in operation. The continuous agitation of the dye solution and a 1-20 minute timer all go towards ensuring that the costly time
and mistakes endured with other machines do not happen. An American review called it “the tinting unit made to correct the mistakes of other systems.”
Product Image Phantom Tint Units
The litre vats are stainless steel, set in black copolymer housing for minimum heat radiation and maximum thermal insulation. The 1500 watt stainless steel heating element is designed to ensure even temperature throughout the system – the variation will not exceed +/- 1 to 1½ degC. The 6 pot bath is also available with 12 mini vats; and 4 and 9 pot versions are also obtainable.
Product Image Super Tinter
These units (right of photo) tint lenses much quicker than ordinary tint baths, sometimes twice as quick. That’s because the temperature probe is in the actual dye, not in the oil. Because the temperature remains constant – whether the lid is on or off – lenses start tinting the minute they hit the dye, rather than waiting till the dye climbs back up to optimum temperature again. The saving in time for volume production is enormous.
The Super Tinter also operates a magnetic stirrer (with choice of speeds) that ensures the dyes do not settle out. This means the dyes function at full capacity throughout the day. The units come in singles (for just your busiest colours) or in banks of 4 or 6.
Product Image UV and Visible Light Meter
This is a top of the range model with a very small footprint – just 17 x 17 cm. To be sure that your lenses absorb UV, the only safe way is to test them on a UV meter: it checks UV transmission over the range 320 – 400nm. It also checks visible light transmission over the range 400 - 700nm which is useful to ensure that tints are as ordered, or to duplicate a tint. The meter will also demonstrate the reaction of photochromic lenses and the value of AR coatings.
